We have an amazing lineup again this year for LaborFest Hawai’i! John Charlot will present on Jean Charlot’s legacy of labor murals in Hawai’i. Jean Charlot painted with Diego Rivera among others, and one of his murals is on the facade of the UPW Building on School St. where the event will be held. Then, founding member of the US Labor Party and author Professor Adolph Reed Jr. will speak on economic and racial inequality. Finally, a local panel organized by Kauaʻi labor activist Ray Catania will discuss the alliance between indigenous issues and labor in honor of labor and environmental activist John Kelly. The event is free, with heavy pupus from Helena’s Hawaiian Food. Don’t miss it.
